Husband. Leader. Gamer. Painter. Builder. Fisherman. Father. I've been married for nearly 10 years and my wife's the best thing that's every happened to me. She's my friend, foil, adventure buddy and reality check. In my day job, I get the opportunity to serve as a leader of people and culture at an innovative, household-name tech company. I've loved games of one type or another my whole life. They bring people together and let people escape the confines of reality for a while without any lasting negative effects (unless you count my wallet). Since I was about 15 years old, I've painted little metal or plastic figures. It's like a 3D coloring book for me. Heck, I might even have a trophy for doing it. If I can get a chance to make something with my hands, I'm there. In the next year or so, I'll have my own small gas forge to start learning how to make knives and shape steel...something I've been fascinated with since I was a young boy. For a decade, I spent most of my time on the waters of southeast Alaska with my dad as a saltwater fishing guide, met some amazing people and learned how to be a man. Most importantly, I have an infant son and a wonderfully smart, funny, beautiful young daughter. Beyond any other responsibility in my life, raising those two little people to be independent, strong, caring adults is my main focus.

Some people find one thing and focus on that to the exclusion of most other things. As a fisherman and, later, as a painter, I did that. Hobbies that I loved and gave me so much joy became burdens. It's burnout, plain and simple. I've found that dabbling in several things, I can keep my interest in them all.
